Labor vs Sales Report

Compare labor costs against revenue to understand staffing efficiency.

Premium Feature

This report requires the Team Management feature to be enabled for your store.


Accessing the Report

Navigate to Reports > Labor & Sales in the sidebar (admin and manager roles only).


Date Range

Use the Start and End date pickers at the top to select your reporting period. The default range is the last 14 days.


Summary Cards

Five key metrics are displayed at the top:

CardWhat It Shows
Labor CostTotal labor cost = hours worked x hourly wage for all employees
Total SalesTotal net sales in the selected period
Labor %Labor cost as a percentage of sales. Turns red if above 30%
Sales/Labor HrRevenue generated per labor hour worked
Total HoursCombined hours worked by all employees

A dual-axis line chart shows:

  • Red line (left axis): Daily labor cost
  • Green line (right axis): Daily sales revenue

This helps you spot days where labor cost was disproportionate to revenue.


Employee Breakdown Table

A detailed table showing each employee's contribution:

Exporting Data

Click Export CSV to download the employee breakdown as a spreadsheet with all columns.


Tips

  • A healthy Labor % for retail is typically 15-25%. Above 30% may indicate overstaffing
  • Use Sales/Hr to identify your most productive team members
  • Compare weekdays vs weekends to optimize scheduling
  • Ensure all employees have hourly wages set in Employee Management for accurate calculations
