Labor vs Sales Report
Compare labor costs against revenue to understand staffing efficiency.
Premium Feature
This report requires the Team Management feature to be enabled for your store.
Accessing the Report
Navigate to Reports > Labor & Sales in the sidebar (admin and manager roles only).
Date Range
Use the Start and End date pickers at the top to select your reporting period. The default range is the last 14 days.
Summary Cards
Five key metrics are displayed at the top:
| Card | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Labor Cost | Total labor cost = hours worked x hourly wage for all employees |
| Total Sales | Total net sales in the selected period |
| Labor % | Labor cost as a percentage of sales. Turns red if above 30% |
| Sales/Labor Hr | Revenue generated per labor hour worked |
| Total Hours | Combined hours worked by all employees |
Daily Trends Chart
A dual-axis line chart shows:
- Red line (left axis): Daily labor cost
- Green line (right axis): Daily sales revenue
This helps you spot days where labor cost was disproportionate to revenue.
Employee Breakdown Table
A detailed table showing each employee's contribution:

| Role | Job role (budtender, manager, etc.) |
| Hours | Total hours worked in the period |
| Labor Cost | Hours x hourly wage |
| Sales | Total sales processed by this employee |
| Transactions | Number of transactions completed |
| Sales/Hr | Revenue per hour worked |
| Cost/Txn | Labor cost per transaction |
Exporting Data
Click Export CSV to download the employee breakdown as a spreadsheet with all columns.
Tips
- A healthy Labor % for retail is typically 15-25%. Above 30% may indicate overstaffing
- Use Sales/Hr to identify your most productive team members
- Compare weekdays vs weekends to optimize scheduling
- Ensure all employees have hourly wages set in Employee Management for accurate calculations
