Mobile App Installation

Install the GreenPOS mobile app on your iOS or Android device for on-the-go access.

What is the Mobile App?

The GreenPOS mobile app is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that provides:

  • Dashboard and sales overview
  • Inventory management
  • Customer lookup
  • Cycle counts
  • Package scanning

Installation on iOS

Step 1: Open Safari

The mobile app must be installed using Safari browser.

  1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Navigate to your GreenPOS URL
  3. Log in with your credentials

Step 2: Add to Home Screen

  1. Tap the Share button (square with arrow)
  2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  3. Name the app "GreenPOS"
  4. Tap Add

Step 3: Launch the App

  1. Find the GreenPOS icon on your home screen
  2. Tap to open
  3. The app opens in full-screen mode
iOS Requirements
  • iOS 14 or later
  • Safari browser (Chrome won't work for PWA install)

Installation on Android

Step 1: Open Chrome

  1. Open Chrome browser on your Android device
  2. Navigate to your GreenPOS URL
  3. Log in with your credentials

Step 2: Install Prompt

Chrome may show an install prompt automatically. If not:

  1. Tap the three dots menu (⋮)
  2. Select Add to Home screen or Install app
  3. Confirm installation

Step 3: Launch the App

  1. Find GreenPOS in your app drawer or home screen
  2. Tap to open
  3. App opens in standalone mode

Staff Mobile Access

Enabling Mobile Access

Managers can enable mobile access for staff:

  1. Go to SettingsAPI Integrations
  2. Find Mobile Dashboard Access
  3. Click Generate Access Token
  4. Share the link with staff

  • Scan barcodes

Customers

  • Look up customers
  • View purchase history
  • Check loyalty points

Cycle Counts

  • Perform inventory counts
  • Scan packages
  • Submit count results

Offline Capabilities

The mobile app works with limited connectivity:

Troubleshooting

App Won't Install

iOS:

  • Must use Safari, not Chrome
  • Check iOS version (14+)
  • Try clearing Safari cache

Android:

  • Use Chrome browser
  • Enable "Add to Home screen" in settings
  • Check Chrome is up to date

App Shows Blank Screen

  1. Clear app cache
  2. Remove and reinstall
  3. Check internet connection
  4. Verify login credentials

Camera Not Working

  1. Grant camera permissions when prompted
  2. Check device settings → GreenPOS → Camera
  3. Restart the app

Security

Session Management

  • Sessions expire after inactivity
  • Automatic logout after 24 hours
  • Can force logout from desktop

Device Management

View connected devices:

  1. Go to SettingsSecurity
  2. See all active sessions
  3. Revoke access if needed
