Keyboard Shortcuts
Speed up your workflow with keyboard input at the POS.
Barcode Scanner
The POS automatically captures barcode scanner input. When you scan a product barcode:
- The scanner sends characters rapidly to the browser.
- GreenPOS detects the scan and looks up the product.
- The product is added to the cart automatically.
No special setup is needed — just plug in a USB barcode scanner or use a Bluetooth scanner paired to your device.
ID Scanner
When verifying customer IDs:
- Click the ID scan button in the customer area.
- Scan the customer's driver's license or ID.
- Customer information auto-populates.
Press Escape to cancel an active scan mode.
Form Navigation

Product Search
When no input field is focused, typing on the keyboard automatically focuses the product search box. This means you can start typing a product name without clicking the search field first.
Browser Shortcuts
These standard browser shortcuts work throughout the app:

Tips
- Use a barcode scanner — Much faster than searching by name.
- Tab through fields — Faster than clicking each field.
- Escape to cancel — Quick way to close any dialog or cancel an action.
