A​

Adjustment​

A manual change to inventory quantity, with documented reason for compliance.

API Key​

Credentials used to connect GreenPOS with external systems like Metrc.

B​

Batch​

A group of products produced together, sharing the same lot number.

Budtender​

A retail sales associate in a cannabis dispensary.

C​

COA (Certificate of Analysis)​

Lab test results documenting cannabinoid and terpene content, plus safety testing.

Caregiver​

A person authorized to purchase cannabis on behalf of a medical patient.

Compliance​

Adherence to state and local cannabis regulations.

Cycle Count​

A scheduled inventory count to verify physical stock matches system records.

D​

Delivery​

Cannabis sales delivered to customer's location.

Discount​

A reduction in price, either percentage or fixed amount.

E​

ESC/POS​

A printing protocol used by thermal receipt printers.

Excise Tax​

A special tax on cannabis products, typically a percentage of sale price.

F​

Flower​

The dried, cured buds of the cannabis plant, sold for smoking/vaping.

G​

Gram (g)​

Standard unit of weight for cannabis products.

H​

Held Order​

A sale in progress that has been saved to complete later.

Hold (Package)​

A package temporarily removed from sale, pending investigation.

I​

Inventory​

All products and packages available for sale.

L​

License​

State-issued authorization to operate a cannabis business.

Loyalty Points​

Customer reward points earned from purchases.

M​

Manifest​

Official document listing products being transferred between facilities.

Medical Patient​

A customer with a valid medical cannabis card.

Metrc​

The state-mandated track-and-trace system for cannabis compliance.

O​

Online Order​

A customer order placed through a website or app for pickup.

P​

Package​

A unit of inventory with a unique compliance tag (Metrc tag).

Package Tag​

A unique identifier assigned by Metrc to track cannabis products.

POS (Point of Sale)​

The system used to process sales transactions.

PWA (Progressive Web App)​

A web application that can be installed on devices like a native app.

Q​

Quantity​

The amount of product, measured in units or weight.

R​

Recreational​

Adult-use cannabis sales (21+), as opposed to medical.

Register​

A physical sales station, also called a terminal or till.

Return​

A product brought back by a customer for refund or exchange.

S​

SKU​

Stock Keeping Unit - a unique product identifier.

Strain​

A specific variety of cannabis (e.g., Blue Dream, OG Kush).

Sync​

The process of updating data between GreenPOS and Metrc.

T​

Tag​

Terminal​

A POS station where sales are processed.

Terpenes​

Aromatic compounds in cannabis that contribute to flavor and effects.

THC​

Tetrahydrocannabinol - the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis.

Tier Pricing​

Pricing based on quantity purchased (e.g., $10/g or $45/eighth).

Transaction​

A completed sale.

Transfer​

Movement of inventory between licensed facilities.

U​

UOM (Unit of Measure)​

How a product is measured (each, gram, ounce, etc.).

V​

Variance​

The difference between expected and actual inventory counts.

Void​

Cancellation of a completed sale.

W​

Weight​

The mass of a product, typically in grams.
