Staff Commissions

Track and calculate employee commissions based on sales performance. Configure commission rules by percentage, flat rate, or tiered structures.

Navigate to Customers > Commission Rules in the sidebar.

Commission Types

Creating a Commission Rule

  1. Click Add Rule.
  2. Enter a Rule Name (e.g., "Standard 5%").
  3. Select the Commission Type (Percentage, Flat, or Tiered).
  4. Set the Rate or Amount:
    • For Percentage: Enter the rate (e.g., 5)
    • For Flat: Enter the dollar amount (e.g., 2.00)
    • For Tiered: Add tiers with Min $, Max $, and Rate %
  5. Choose what the rule Applies To:
    • All sales — Applies to every transaction
    • Specific category — Only applies to sales in a chosen category
    • Specific product — Only applies to sales of a chosen product
  6. Optionally set a Minimum Sale Amount threshold.
  7. Set the Priority — Higher priority rules are evaluated first when multiple rules could apply.
  8. Toggle Active on.
  9. Click Save.

Tiered Commissions

Tiered rules let you set different rates for different sale amounts:

Click Add Tier to add more brackets. Each tier needs a minimum amount, maximum amount, and commission rate.

Managing Rules

The Commission Rules page shows all rules in a table:

Use the dropdown menu on each rule to Edit or Delete it.

Commission Reports

View earned commissions at Reports & Analytics > Commissions. The report shows commission totals per employee for a selected date range, with export to CSV.


Tips

  • Keep rules simple — Fewer, clearer rules are easier for staff to understand and motivate around.
  • Use priority wisely — If you have both a general rule (all sales at 5%) and a category-specific rule (concentrates at 7%), set the category rule to a higher priority so it takes precedence.
  • Review regularly — Check commission reports monthly and adjust rates based on performance.
